December 10, 2022 OMNI Marine Litter Project

Zushi x University of Tokyo Beach Clean Idea Workshop

-Design guidelines for keeping the Zushi coast clean-

On December 10, 2022, as the third series of the Future Beach Clean Lab, which is being worked on by Zushi City and the University of Tokyo, a citizen-participation work with the theme of "designing guidelines for continuing to use the Zushi coast cleanly." I ran a shop.

In this workshop, which is the third of the Mirai Beach Clean Lab, there were many contents about coastal garbage and beach clean operation in the overall dialogue of the second workshop, so the theme was to create beach clean guidelines. narrow down the discussion.

The secretariat team created a rough draft of the guidelines in advance, and through question-and-answer sessions, participants confirmed the current operation and why the contents of the guidelines are the way they are. While deepening our understanding of whether it is necessary to use it for future generations, we will discuss in groups what kind of things we want to happen in the future Zushi coast, and how to create the ideal Zushi coast ahead of future generations. I drew.

After telling the participants about the theme of this workshop at the beginning of the workshop, we immediately shared the beach cleaning guidelines created by the secretariat team one by one.

Based on the shared content, we sorted out by group how we sympathized with how to use the coast, where we wanted to ask questions, and ideas that should be done better, and updated the guidelines and deepened our understanding through overall sharing.

Actually speaking based on what was organized as a guideline, I could see the intention of the current operation and the points that could be improved.

In the second half, each group discussed how to actually bring about what they want to happen on the Zushi coast in the future.

I want to create a network as a local community through beach cleaning", "I want small good actions to be born while valuing the spontaneity of each beach user", "While being open to a variety of beach users, Various ideal Zushi coasts were born, such as "I want it to be widely known as a beach that is used cleanly" and "I want education on beach cleaning of the Zushi coast".

After kicking off in June 2022, Mirai Beach Clean Lab officially began its activities in September.

This is the end of the series of workshops. From now on, the secretariat team will create the necessary beach cleaning guidelines to leave a clean Zushi coast for future generations. .

Finally, each participant condensed the previous Zushi coast through beach cleaning into one word and announced it to the whole.
